Spring has Sprung!

Hello Gardening Friends!

I hope your Spring was filled with beautiful blooms and lots of enjoyable days in your garden. We have been working hard to keep up with all the beauty around our containers. It's been a tough job with the magnificent Azaleas and Hydrangeas this year! Here are a few pictures of what we've been up to. Hope to hear from you all soon!!

Charles Dickens may be right about that for now, but warm days, green leaves, and spring flowers are JUST around the corner! Tulips, Daffodils, and other lovely bulbs are slowly emerging after a long winter nap…and we welcome them as the first sign of the coming of spring! Once again, we are ecstatic to primp your containers with color, texture, and style that will last through the dog days of summer and to the fall months.

While annual flowers, boxwoods, ferns, and more grace so many of your planters, we have been exploring the beauty of vegetable gardens, as well. Not only are they functional, but they provide color, wonderful smells, butterflies and other important pollinators to your yard…and yummy, organic food, to boot! From tomatoes, peppers, and herbs in pots to squash, beans, and okra in the ground, we can fit veggies into any garden or container that is in full sun!

Valentines' Day!!

Happy Valentines' Day to Friends of Container Gardening!!
Yep...it's right around the corner. After the craze of the holidays and the hoop-lah of New Years, Valentines' Day seems to really sneak up and take us by surprise. Luckily for you, Container Gardening is on top of things this year!
Don't find yourself running out on February 14th to a cut flower shop! Potted orchids are the Valentine that gives for weeks and weeks, long after cut flowers have withered and dropped petals. Pre-order with us by WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 10th so that you can rest assured that you will be in the good graces of your loved one on Valentines' Day!!

Delivery available Friday the 12th through Sunday the 14th (extra charge).

Rehearsal Dinner pictures to come...I forgot my camera and didn't realize it until we got to the Piedmont Driving Club Golf Club. I did not make the same mistake when we decorated Northside United Methodist Church for their wedding on Saturday.

Simple, yet dramatic elegance

We were asked to do potted and cut arrangements for a rehearsal dinner at 103 West right before Christmas. We were going for 'simple, yet dramatic elegance with a hint of Christmas spirit.' And that it was!

We used a classic silver wine cooler as the container at the namecard table. This was the 'Ta-Da!' arrangement filled with orchids, red ilex berries, willow, boxwood clippings, and fir clippings.

Christmas 2009!

There is just nothing more beautiful and festive than seasonal greenery at Christmas time. Whether it is the sight of glossy Magnolia over a door, the distinct, fresh smell of Cedar garland draped over a mantle, or the classic Christmas scent of a fir tree adorned with ornaments that each have their own meaning. Ahhh.....why can't we have these sense-evoking, beautiful greens in our homes all year??? Oh yes, I remember now. Because they are such a mess and pain to take down?!? Yikes. I don't know what a holiday season would be without them though! They truly are FANTASTIC!

My favorite tree we did this year!! No ornaments...just red ilex berries, pine cones, and cotton stalks decorated this tree! It was finished off with a burlap bow on top and burlap fabric as the skirt.
