A smidge from Spring and Summer....

Pardon the really horrible phone photos! But until we find that dang USB cord and get our good pics on the computer, this is all I have for the moment! Can't wait to show y'all what else we've been up to!

This windowbox literally cooks in the heat. Our client has tried tons of different drought tolerant plants and flowers, but with no success. We tried lots of succulents, echeveria, etc and it's loving these dog days of summer!

This porch was in desperate need of a buffer from the restaurants/stores it backs up to. With the help of some drapes and hanging baskets, this couple got exactly what they were hoping for!

An oldie-goldie combo in our book. If it ain't broke...don't fix it. Love Kimberly Queens, Angel Wings, and Caladiums year after year!

This just screams summer....Gaura, Vinca, Verbena, Mandevilla....

Anna and Andy's Wedding

WOW! I am officially the worst blogger ever. I swear, yesterday was April and I woke up this morning and it was late August. We have been BUSY! Spring was great and plantings kept us busy well into the hot summer months. In June we took a break from digging in the dirt to do flowers for a dear friends wedding. I say "do flowers" and what I really mean is pour our hearts and souls into each beautiful bloom for a week. Well...it was worth every minute! Take a look at the pictures below and you'll see!

The setting...an old brick barn with lovely architecture just outside of good ol' Athens, GA.

The couple...the beautiful, handsome, hilarious, and wonderful Anna and Andy Frame!

Spring 2011 Newsletter

SPRING HAS SPRUNG!

Thank goodness! For weeks, no..months, I've been saying, 'Hurry up Spring!' Well, it's mid-March and Spring officially starts on the 21st. It's here! It's here! And we deserve it! HOWEVER...on average, the last freeze in Atlanta is April 15th, so we must be careful about what we plant.

We will be getting our warm weather annuals in the first week in APRIL. Any planting before then will have to be violas, pansies, perennials, ferns, etc.

Either way, give us a call TODAY to get on our calendar! We book up quickly in April and May.

We look forward to another season in your garden!

Is it Spring yet?

No...not yet, at least. In fact, it is only mid-February, but according to a little groundhog named Phil, it IS on the way!

'Punxsutawny Phil'

I'm not usually a believer in groundhogs...or weathermen for that matter! What I can't deny is that I saw Forsithia blooming on my walk today and BULBS that are coming up in my yard. They are weeks from blooming, but that little bit of fresh, new green is making me SO happy! I know exactly where I planted the bulbs last autumn. It's hard to forget scooting around on your hands and knees while planting 250 bulbs....yes, 250. Tulips and Daffodils. I love them. I've run around my yard like a crazy flower lady moving pine straw away to see if there are more coming up than I can see.

Forsithia blooming. First burst of color for weeeeeeeeeeeeks.
Bright yellow Daffodils on a clear early Spring day :)
I usually prefer a soft yellow, but there is something about that pop of Daffodil that makes me smile. Maybe it's the anticipation on what the new Spring will bring. Maybe it's the happy little face of the flower. All I know is it means Spring is starting.

Ahhhh...........Tulips. Who doesn't love these?

With all of this spring thinking in my yard, I got to thinking about YOUR gardens and containers. Lets plan! It's never too early to get on our calendar and to talk ideas. If you need a little something to hold you over until Spring officially arrives, call us for a fabulous interior arrangement to get you there....think hydrangeas, tulips, cyclamen, hyacinth, or orchids.....or all of them!?!?!

Wishing you all a speedy end to this winter. Think warm, bright yellow thoughts!
